At Wieuca Animal Clinic, we perform spay (ovariohysterectomy) and neuter surgery. Additionally, our surgery suite is fully equipped to perform soft-tissue and orthopedic surgery when needed.

Wellness Care

During The Procedure

Your pet will be monitored closely by a licensed veterinary technician while he or she is under anesthesia.

We use state-of-the-art equipment to monitor your pet’s heart rate and rhythm (ECG), oxygen saturation (Pulse Oximeter), respiration (Capnograph), and blood pressure.

Fluids are administered via an IV catheter to help maintain circulation and blood pressure, and a heating blanket is used to help maintain your pet’s body temperature.

Our physical exams include a head-to-tail assessment, during which we will:

  • Check body weight
  • Look at the eyes, ears, and nose
  • Check the lymph nodes
  • Look in the mouth to assess the health of the teeth and gums
  • Evaluate the heart and lungs
  • Feel the abdomen to check the internal organs including the kidneys and liver
  • Evaluate the muscles, spine, and joints
  • Evaluate the nervous system
  • Check the urogenital organs
